EI Institute: STEAM Changemakers

For K-12 educators, administrators, support staff. No prior experience necessary.

 

A customized STEAM integration workshop

A customized learning experience – based on your school’s goals – to create more hands-on learning and build student choice and voice. 

This fellowship is designed for:

  • School leaders and instructional coaches who are looking to shift their school into a more hands-on, high-engagement learning environment with more student choice and agency.
  • Educators – both individual and teams –who want to integrate more STEAM concepts and tools into their classroom and/or school system. 

Participants will have full access to:

  • Spending the week at the Acera Lab School, learning alongside other innovative educators. 
  • Working to advance a personal project for your school or school system through daily meetings with an AceraEI coach, as well as specialists in the area of your unique project. 
  • Daily professional learning in our STEAM Innovators and Enchanted Electronics sessions, which focus on enhancing educators skill sets in maker space teaching and incorporating cutting-edge learning – like circuitry and coding – into their practice.
  • An ongoing cohort of innovative educators who support each other beyond the cohort experience.

Program instructors

Irina Uk, Education and Innovation Program Manager​

Irina is a graduate of the Technology, Innovation, and Education program at Harvard. She has been teaching Math and Creative Computing in formal and informal settings for the last 14 years. She also has worked in EdTech and is very passionate about making educational technologies accessible to teachers and students.

Sarah Zuckerman, Director of Education and Innovation​

Sarah is a graduate of the Arts in Education program at Harvard. Prior to her work in education leadership and program design, she was an art teacher in K-12 classrooms for 10 years, and has received numerous awards for her work, including Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Urban Scholars Fellowship and the Sontag Prize for Urban Education, and has had works published by Education Leadership, Ed Week, and Americans for the Arts.
